The Shellder and Slowpoke Relationship

In the old days, Shellder and Slowpokes were peoples with great community and love. Their tribes often intermarried, and it was hard to set them apart from each other. In fact, their togetherness goes so far back into time, that no history book exists to tell of the time of their first meeting. They have always been this way. And if history had run its course at their pleasure, they would have stayed that way.

But who can forget the dark necromancer Rabul. It is well written in Fields of Grief of those days when Rabul came to power in the southern shores of Sleafone. He subjugated the villages, including those of the Shellder and Slowpokes. He found through his dark arts the strange venoms and the psychic abilities. So he took these peoples to his foul lair of Gabrough. Torturing and mutilating them, he formed terrible chimeras, the modern descendants of them being called Slowbros and Slowkings. He made war with his agonized, half mad creations, and they vanquished all who opposed Rabul. It was not until the Hero of Kitigura struck him down that peace was finally restored.

To this day, Shellders and Slowpokes maintain a certain distance from each other, afraid of that past that still haunts them from those dark and ancient ages. Maybe one day they will be able to heal those wounds, but until then, they remain apart, longing for a friendship they crave and desise.
